Rider Information | Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to our Dial-A-Ride Service.  The Livermore-Pleasanton-Dublin area is served by two different paratransit providers with separate service areas, hours and regulations.  This page describes the Wheels Dial-A-Ride service. For residents of Pleasanton, daytime service is provided by the City of Pleasanton Paratransit Service, while dial-a-ride service during early morning and evening hours and Sundays is provided by Wheels.  For more information on Pleasanton's Paratransit, call (925) 931-5376 or go to their Pleasanton Paratransit Service page. Reservations

For reservations on Wheels Dial-A-Ride, call (925) 455-7510.  For the hearing impaired using a TT, you can contact Dial-A-Ride via California Relay Service at (877) 735-2929.  Wheels ride reservations are taken between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, seven days a week.  Rides can be reserved up to seven (7) days in advance, and as late as the day before the ride is needed.  It's best to make your reservation as soon as possible to ensure you get the time and trip you want. At the time the reservation is made, the customer service representative will give the customer an approximate pick up time.

We make every effort to arrive within 15 minutes (earlier or later) of the scheduled pick-up time.  If the van is expected to be more  than 20 minutes late, customer service will notify the customer.  If the van is more than 30 minutes late, the customer will receive one free ride. Customers must be ready within five minutes of notice of the van's arrival.  If a customer's medical appointment takes longer than expected, we ask that they notify our dispatcher to arrange a new pick-up time.  We cannot guarantee the desired pick-up time in this situation. For Pleasanton Paratransit Service(PPS) Reservations, Call (925) 931-5376.

Cancellations

To cancel Wheels Dial-A-Ride reservations, the rider should notify dispatch at 455-7510 as soon as possible, but at least on hour before their scheduled pick-up time.  Customers who fail to show up for a scheduled ride three times within a six month period will have their service terminated for one month.  A written notice will be sent before service is terminated.

Paying for your trip

Each trip costs $3.00.  The van operator will request one ticket or $3.00 per trip.  These can be deposited in the fare box on the coach.  Customers can pay with cash on the van or use tickets.  If paying in cash, you must have exact change for the trip.  Tickets may be ordered from:
