Catch Wheels to the Alameda County Fair!
Save money. Avoid traffic. Have fun!
It's Fair time again and let WHEELS take you to the Alameda County Fair the easy way!
From Friday, June 20 through Sunday, July 6, 2008, Wheels will provide convenient, money-saving bus
service to the Alameda County Fair from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station and the Livermore Transit
Center.
Fair-goers coming in on BART will be directed to Wheels’ regularly-scheduled eastbound Route 10 bus just
outside the BART fare gates. The bus, which runs approximately every 15 minutes from BART, will let
passengers off at Peters Avenue/Division, with drivers announcing the stop in advance. From there, riders
can take the free Wheels’ shuttle or enjoy the short, quarter-mile walk – marked with direction signs – to the
Fairgrounds.
Livermore residents can also leave their cars at home and catch Wheels’ Route 10 from the downtown
Livermore Transit Center, along Railroad Avenue and Stanley Boulevard, to the Peters Avenue/St. Mary’s
stop with a short walk to transfer to the free Wheels Fair shuttle to the fairgrounds. Ample free parking is
available at the Livermore Parking Garage adjacent to the Transit Center, located at 2500 Railroad Avenue,
Livermore.
Return trip to BART: Board the free Wheels Fair shuttle at the bus stop located in front of the Fair
Administration building and transfer to a regularly-scheduled westbound Wheels Route 10 bus at the corner
of Peters Avenue/St Mary’s, a short walk from the shuttle stop.
Return trip to Livermore: Board the free Wheels shuttle at the bus stop located in front of the Fair
Administration building and transfer to a regularly-scheduled eastbound Wheels Route 10 bus at the corner
of Peters Avenue/St. Mary Street.
While at the Fair, participants are encouraged to check out Wheels’ new diesel hybrid bus that will be on
display June 20-22 in the Living Green Village exhibition area on the west side of the fairgrounds. With fewer
emissions, better fuel efficiency and a smoother ride, this new generation bus promises passengers an even
more relaxing and eco-friendly travel option.
For service to the fair, the regular adult /student cash fare is $1.75 per one-way trip. Children under 6 years
of age ride free with a paying adult. The fare is just 85¢ for Seniors (age 65 and over) and Disabled
passengers (with a valid RTC Discount card). BART Plus or WHEELS Business Club passes accepted.
