Easy Steps to taking the Bus to School

  1. Choose your route and find the intersections listed on the schedule that are closest to your home. Not  all bus stops are listed on the schedule. If your stop would be between the timepoints listed, use the time at the first intersection. Call Wheels at 455-7500 if you’re not sure about your route, time or stop.

  2.
  3. Get to your stop about 5 minutes early. Look for a Wheels sign or a stencil on the curb indicating where on the route the bus will stop.

  4.
  5. Board the bus and deposit $1.50 or a Wheels ticket in the farebox.  Exact fare is required.  Enjoy the ride!  Pull the cord (or push the yellow strip) along the window one block before your stop.  Buses will only stop at marked Wheels stops.

  6. Please review the Rules of the Road.  You can find them at the following link:  Rules of the Road

Wheels School Trippers

Wheels, your local public transit system, offers a variety of options for students traveling to and from school.  The options for your school are listed above.  Many schools are served by our Fixed Route service running throughout the day.

Additional service is provided by Wheels "School Trippers."  This service is a part of the public transit system and all passengers are expected to act appropriately, regardless of age.

Appropriate conduct on Wheels buses means showing respect to the driver, other passengers and the vehicle itself.  Students who fail to do so will lose the privilege to riding the Wheels bus system.  All Wheels "School Trippers" are equipped with video cameras to ensure proper conduct by all passengers.  Feel free to call us at (925) 455-7500 if you have any questions regarding Wheels' policies.

Please Note
Wheels attempts to operate all services on time -- however, weather, special events, traffic congestion, and other things may cause delays.
