In an effort to receive input that will be used to update the LAVTA’s Short-Range Transit Plan, feel free to complete this survey.  Your input is greatly appreciated.


Transportation Survey - Current Non-Rider

1.  Why are you participating in this Survey?

 

I’m interested in using Wheels myself.

 

My interest is on behalf of a family member or friend.

2.  What area do you live in? Please be specific, using intersections or landmarks. Where do you most often travel to? Please be specific, using intersections or landmarks. 

 

   

3.  Why don’t you currently ride the bus? (rank 1-7 in order of priority)

 

Service doesn’t go where I need to go.

 

Service doesn’t run at the time I need to travel.

 

Infrequent service.

 

I can get to my destination much faster by driving my car.

 

I feel that public transit is unpleasant and/or is not safe.

 

I don’t have enough information about the current service to know if taking the bus
would work for me.

 

Bus stops are unattractive or spaced too far apart.


4.  If you were to consider using Wheels, how would you get to the service?

 

Walk to a bus stop that is located within a block from home/workplace.

 

Drive to a park & ride lot and board the bus from there.

 

Ride my bike and park it near the bus stop (bike lockers).

 

Take my bike aboard the bus. (All buses have bicycle racks).

 

Board the bus with a wheelchair or other personal mobility device.


5. Wheels is considering many service expansion or alteration options.  Which of these potential new services seems most appealing to you and may encourage you to try Wheels transit?

 

Commute service from the Tri-Valley to San Jose & Silicon Valley.

 

Weekend and/or seasonal Winery Shuttles.

 

Expansion of Wheels Route 70X to from Dublin/Pleasanton BART to Walnut Creek.

 

Increased frequencies and longer hours on existing Wheels routes.

 

Expansion of school-oriented “tripper” routes that provide service to local middle and high schools

6.  When you selected your current place of residence, did you take the existence of public transit into consideration when making your decision?
