Frequently Asked
Questions

What is Go
Dublin?

Go Dublin is a rideshare promotion where Wheels
will pay for 50% of your fare, up to $5.00, for any rides with our participating partners within the city
limits of Dublin, which includes both Tri-Valley BART stations.

Who are the
participating providers?

The current participating providers are Uber,
Lyft, and DeSoto Cab. Check back frequently to this Go Dublin page of the Wheels website for updates to
providers.

Do I have a
choice whether to use Lyft Line or a regular Lyft ride? uberPOOL or a regular Uber ride? DeSoto Rideshare or a
regular DeSoto Cab ride?

To qualify for the 50% discount, up to $5, on
rides from participating partners in the GoDublin promotion, you must select the uberPOOL, Lyft Line or DeSoto
Share option when booking your ride. This helps keep costs low and reduce the number of cars on the road. If
you opt to take a regular Uber, Lyft or DeSoto Cab ride you will be responsible for paying the regular fare.

Why did
Wheels create the Go Dublin Promotion?

Providing transit service in less-populated
areas is challenging, and frequent bus service cannot operate efficiently. Go Dublin is a promotion with
rideshare companies to give Dublin residents easy, affordable transportation solutions.

Why is this
a demonstration project?

This new concept requires testing to see what
works best. We hope it will be easy, more convenient and more cost effective to operate.

When and
where is Go Dublin valid?

Go Dublin is valid for trips that both start and
end within the city limits of Dublin on any day of the week at any time until the promotion expires on June
30, 2019, OR funding is exhausted, which ever happens sooner.

How does Go
Dublin work? I have a smartphone!

Simply download the Uber, Lyft or DeSoto phone
app and set up your account. To request a ride select Promotions or Promos from the menu and enter the code
“GODUBLIN” (one word) and then select Apply. Next, choose Uber Pool, Lyft Line or DeSoto Share and set your
pickup and drop-off locations. Your discount will be automatically applied after your trip concludes.

What if I
don’t have a smartphone?

If you don’t have a smartphone, call DeSoto Cab
at 925-777-7777.

Is there
service for people with disabilities?

Yes, DeSoto Cab offers vehicles that are
wheelchair accessible. Check with participating partners for the latest information on accessibility services
available.

What if I
don’t have a credit card?

You can still participate in the Go Dublin
promotion by scheduling you rideshare through DeSoto Cab at 925-777-7777.

How do I
know using rideshare is safe?

All participating partners offer criminal
background checks, DMV checks, vehicle inspections and provide $1 million liability insurance for all drivers
and vehicles. In addition, there is a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. Finally, some participants offer
a rating system; if you rate a driver less than 3 stars, you will never be matched with that driver again. If
you do experience a safety incident, call 911 if necessary, then call the participating partners emergency
response line as provided for in their individual phone apps.

Is tipping
required?

Tipping is not expected or required. Wheels does
not cover the cost of tips.

What kind
of data is shared with Wheels? Is a user’s name attached to this data? Can Wheels watch their every move?

The data is completely anonymous, so Wheels will
not be able to track where someone is or learn exactly where they’ve been or are going. Wheels will receive
data such as: frequent destinations, peak travel times and other non-address specific, block level
information.

What if I
want to go just outside of the service area? Is the discount valid until I’m outside of that area, or do I
have to pay for the whole trip?

If you travel outside the service area, you will
be responsible for paying the entire fare (Go Dublin promotion will not apply).

How long
can I expect to wait for my ride to show up?

Actual wait times depend on how many drivers are
currently in the area, but in most cases a ride will arrive within 10 to 15 minutes.

Can anyone
use Go Dublin?

Yes, anyone over 18 can use the Go Dublin
promotion. All of the participating providers have 4-doors and accept service animals. If you are unable to
ride in a sedan, you can request a wheelchair-accessible vehicle from DeSoto Cab.

How is Go
Dublin paid for? Were taxpayer dollars used to develop this program?

The Go Dublin promotion is paid for by local
Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds from Wheels and Measure BB funds from the Alameda County
Transportation Commission.

Are booking
or services fees included in the Go Dublin discount?

Booking or service fees may not be included in
the Go Dublin discount. Please check individual service providers for details.

I have some
ideas for improvements. How can I give feedback?

Wheels is eager to hear your ideas. Please
e-mail Jonathan Steketee, Manager of Customer Service & Contract Oversight at jsteketee@lavta.org.
