The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA), operator of the Wheels bus system and the Tri-Valley Rapid, is hosting a second round of public workshops to gather comments on potential future Wheels route changes as part of its Wheels Forward initiative.
Wheels Forward is a comprehensive analysis of the existing Wheels bus network, with recommendations for short and long term route modifications to better serve changes in ridership, land uses, travel time and travel patterns. LAVTA launched the Wheels Forward initiative in the spring of 2015 with a round of data collection, on-board passenger surveys, an analysis of ridership and on-time performance, and existing and future land uses. In late July, LAVTA held a round of Wheels Forward public meetings to solicit comments on future route changes and gather input from riders and non-riders on service improvement trade-offs. The Wheels Forward Planning Team has now developed a series of bus service scenarios and is ready to gather public input on the potential route changes. Residents can view the proposed service scenarios and offer comment through the WheelsForward.com website beginning the week of October 19th, or by attending one of the three scheduled public outreach workshops:
