Wheels Stuff A Bus Event Donates “Bus Load” of Cheer

Community contributions provide record haul of toys for local families

LIVERMORE, Calif. – Wheels greeted shoppers at the Pleasanton Walmart on Saturday, December 13 for another season of Stuff-A-Bus, the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority’s (LAVTA’s) annual holiday toy collection. Drawn by radio station KKIQ’s live broadcast, shoppers and supporters came aboard to drop off donations for local charity Family Giving Tree. New this year, a “Most Needed Gifts” holiday wish list let supporters pre-purchase age specific gifts and boosted the total Wheels donation.

“Holiday spirit is alive and well in Pleasanton” said LAVTA Director of Customer Experience David Mark. “On a beautiful day in the Tri-Valley, Wheel’s staff and Walmart shoppers displayed incredible generosity. More than 50 overflowing bins of toys were collected. Community connections are a point of pride for LAVTA and the Wheels family, and we appreciate everyone who participated.”

This was LAVTA’s fourteenth year conducting the Stuff-A-Bus event. As the holidays approach, the agency reminds riders that parties are better with the peace of mind of safe and reliable transit on Wheels.
