Wheels Introduces Innovative New Operator Restroom
LIVERMORE, Calif. – The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) announces the addition of a Throne bus operator restroom facility at its Dublin Pleasanton BART transit hub. This self-contained innovative amenity offers bus operators a clean, safe, and accessible solution to this basic workplace need. Throne combines secure access with cleaning notifications and scheduling to redefine what employees should expect from workplace restrooms.
The Throne product is designed for transit agencies who are looking for a better restroom solution at layover stops where bus operators take their breaks. Turnkey service employs sensors and user feedback to optimize cleaning and maintenance. The result is consistently sparkling restrooms backed by transparent performance data. Secure access is managed by mobile phone, with the facility for bus operators only.
Christy Wegener, LAVTA’s Executive Director, noted; “I went to the BART station and walked the bus platform to the public restroom inside the fare gates. Roundtrip, it was 7 minutes and 0.4 miles. With layovers averaging less than 10 minutes, bringing a restroom closer will be impactful to our workforce, as well as our on-time performance.”
Wheels held a ribbon cutting with operators and its Throne partner, where the restroom received an overwhelmingly positive reception. LAVTA was joined by operators and executives from County Connection, who will share the new facility with Wheels.
